Why doesn’t the Federal Government pass one law to regulate ammonium nitrate for all States and Territories?
Ammonium nitrate is a dangerous good and the regulation of dangerous goods is a State and Territory responsibility. While there may be minor variations in the way each State and Territory chooses to regulate ammonium nitrate, they will all be based on the same security measures contained in the Principles.
