Why don most bed & breakfasts accept credit cards or personal checks?
Happily, many more do accept credit cards these days. In the past, it was difficult to qualify for a credit card account unless the business could guarantee a higher level of activity. Personal checks are generally not accepted because of the risk of fraud. If your hosts require payment in cash or traveler’s checks, they will be happy to provide a receipt for your records.
