Since we only support Mpeg-4 compatible codec implementations, we will not be able to play video files older than DivX® 5.0.

Since we only support Mpeg-4 compatible codec implementations, we will not be able to play video files older than DivX 5.0. From here It’s quite picky at what it’ll handle, but I guess the last thing MS wants is functionality that could be used to cause a buffer overflow, so don’t expect them to support a format that allows for data other than audio and video streams.
