Why don state id numbers print on Form W2?
In order for state identification numbers to print on an employee’s W2, both of the following conditions must be met: 1) The employer’s state identification number(s) must be recorded on the State ID page of the client’s master record (see Client (Filer) Management) 2) The state abbreviation (e.g. NY, NJ, AL, etc.) must be entered on either the State 1 or State 2 line of the employee’s Form W2.
