After installing EndNote and opening Microsoft Word, I do not see the EndNote toolbar or commands under the Tools menu. How can I fix this?

When I use the mini toolbar to change numerical values to Bold or Italics, it appears to work. But then when I leave the cell, either by pressing Enter or clicking on another cell, the applied formatting disappears. It works great with text but does not seem to work with numbers.
