Why dose my cat keep on hissing and grouling?
Sounds like a very unhappy cat. First of all, get her spayed. cats who are spayed do not have to go through the trauma of labor and delivery over and over, plus they live longer than non-spayed cats. There are many, many low cost options to do it, so don’t use the ‘can’t afford it’ excuse. Many animal shelters will do it for free or on a sliding-scale fee basis. She also needs a full physical and needs her shots. Growling and hissing can be indicators of pain and/or sickness in an animal. Remember, pets cannot say “I am sick” or “I am in pain” so sometimes they act out to show their discomfort.Once again, there are many low-cost options so finances are no excuse not to do this. Do you have children? If so, they need to leave that cat alone…she does not want to be touched…and her signals are telling you that she does not want you to bother her either.
