Why has a local coalition formed?
The U.S. Surgeon General has determined that secondhand smoke exposure causes disease and premature death in nonsmokers. Secondhand smoke is a significant and largely preventable risk to health. Our mission is to educate the community, provide tobacco cessation resources, and work with the community and policy makers to pursue a comprehensive smoke-free workplace ordinance including all bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
