Why introduce another Park & Ride site between Rotherham and Sheffield?

0

Currently you can travel between the districts via train and bus using existing car parks at Rotherham Interchange and Sheffield Railway Station. You can also leave your car and use the tram at Meadowhall, Centertainment and Nunnery Square Park and Ride. However, these Park & Ride sites are currently reaching capacity by 8am Monday to Friday and do not necessarily cater for those travelling further a field who use the M1 and the M18. Those travelling along Sheffield Parkway in peak periods will know that it gets easily congested. The Park and Ride site proposed for Waverley will help reduce this congestion and offer those who usually use their car a comparable alternative.
