Why is a Texas school district letting teachers carry guns?
According to the Superintendent David Thewatt of the Harrold, Texas, school district, it’s for safety reasons. Rural Harrold has only 110 students, and it would take first responders about a half an hour to get there. From MSNBC: “Thweatt said it is a matter of safety. “We have a lock-down situation, we have cameras, but the question we had to answer is, ‘What if somebody gets in? This is really interesting to me, as I remember when my husband, a police chief, went to a seminar in regards to the terrible shooting incident in the Amish school.
