Why is Amity Shlaes a Deal Breaker?
Amity Shlaes is an author and conservative commentator with libertarian leanings. She is the author of The Greedy Hand: How Taxes Drive Americans Crazy And What To Do About It, and, most recently, The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression. Shlaes is a Bloomberg columnist and senior fellow in economic history at the Council on Foreign Relations. Amity Shlaes frequently blames FDR’s New Deal as the cause of the depth and length of the Great Depression. Her book, The Forgotten Man, has been a lightening rod since its publication in 2007.
