Why is diversity important in the workplace?
Diversity is important in the workplace for a number of reasons but the primary one is to make the product better for consumption for all lifestyles. Without diversity the product would be placed in a state of “tunnel vision” serving only one area of society. As we know, society is a combination of nationalities and personages. For a product to be a real success, there must be diversity, not only in the product itself, but also in the workforce and marketing of it. That’s a reality.
It is important to be culturally understanding and socially accepting to all types of people, however it is not necessary to have this forced upon in a workplace environment. A smooth running business usually is made of people that share a sense of family of social kinship with each other. The more outside forces that intervene, the harder this cohesion is to form. Not to say different types of people can’t work well together as a team, but merely that selecting a team based on diversity may be the wrong approach.
its not,as long as the job gets done ,the only people that would care about diversity would be govenment aggentsies and groups that preach diversity.the one advantage to diversity is you get different view points.some of the disadvantages could be sexual tentions ,harrasment, work place affairs etc.you can also get into rasual tentions .
