Why is it necessary to take the paralegal courses instead of just the LNC seminars?
Since the LNC will be either working directly with attorneys or dealing with attorneys in some fashion, it is important to develop a basic understanding of the law and the court system. Like paralegals, the LNC must learn how attorneys think and analyze legal problems. The LNC must learn how to perform legal research so that they can relate the law to medical facts. An LNC who can think like a nursing professional and write like a lawyer is a real asset in preparing and answering written discovery request or writing memoranda in which they organize medical facts in relation to legal concepts.
