I think you are maxing two different markets. If you look for electronic keyboards, you will find many different sizes. However if you look for digital pianos, you will find that all have 88 keys. Check out the Roland, Korg, and Yamaha digital pianos, they all have 88 keys and their keys are balanced like a real piano too. Electronic keyboards can easily transpose the notes, so they can get by with fewer keys, notice that some MIDI keyboard designed for computer input usually have around 2 octaves only. And many electronic keyboards are designed smaller in order to make them portable. Digital pianos are pretty much standard size because they are designed to replace the piano.
