The 15-county Kansas City Metropolitan Statistical Area, anchored by Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas, is the 27th largest in the United States with an estimated population of 1,950,000 in the year 2005. The Combined Statistical Area also includes the Micropolitan Statistical Areas of Atchison, Kansas, and Warrensburg, Missouri, with estimated populations of 10,232 and 16,741, respectively.
