Why is Mary called as the Immaculate Conception?
Mary is called the Immaculate Conception because she was conceived without original sin. By virtue of her being chosen as the mother of Jesus, she is being prepared by the Father by giving the privilege of being conceived without sin or stain. She is “full of grace” as mentioned by the Angel Gabriel during the Anunciation, thus, being addressed by her cousin Elizabeth as “blessed among women, and blessed is the fruit of her womb.
