Why is self-expression important to the world?
There are definitely some artistic implications in self-expression. If the world did not have self-expression it would not have art either, and there are a lot of good arts. Cooking is an art, so no more cooking. Music is an art too, no more music. Acting is an art, no more movies or plays. Writing is an art, no more books. So far this world without self-expression kind of sucks. There is also something called transient confidence. It is the principal by which your own confidence rubs off on those around you, and you said yourself that self-expression is “a way for you to feel unique and great about yourself.” Sounds like confidence to me. Animals practice self-expression too. They do it differently but they still do it. Like when a bear roars at you to tell you to go away, that’s self-expression. He could skip the self-expression and kill you right off the bat. Humanity could easily drop to the bottom of the food chain because the world would basically be a cold uncaring hunk of rock.
