Why is South America called Latin America.?
The romance languages of the world are those that developed from Latin, and Latin was the official language of Rome we might also call them the descendants of the Latin language. French, Italian and Spanish are among these Romance or Latin languages. The Spanish, as we know, had a lot to do with the settling of South America. And many of the countries adopted Spanish as their official language. The Latin American countries are those whose official language is Spanish or some other language which descended from the Latin of ancient Rome.
