Why is Springs Utilities changing to monthly adjustments?
Market prices for natural gas and electricity change more frequently than once or twice a year. With a monthly adjustment, we will be able to respond to market price trends earlier by either lowering or raising energy costs. This will help alleviate large changes in the adjustments on an annual basis. It also ensures that customers are paying the appropriate price point for the appropriate period. Through monthly cost adjustments, we’re able to more closely match the revenue stream with our fuel costs. This can mean financial savings, which can then be passed on to customers.
