Why is SureScripts formulary service so significant?

There is strong physician demand for access to patient formulary information. A survey of 2,888 physicians identified reducing phone calls and faxes (from clean scripts) as one of e-prescribing’s most valued administrative benefits. Addressing that demand will help drive e-prescribing adoption and utilization. The formulary service will also enable SureScripts to continue to build relationships with the payer community which must comply with the Medicare Modernization Act, requiring all payers providing prescription drug coverage to provide formulary information to physicians at the point of care.
