Why is the exemption period on booster seats for visitors to the province being shortened to 30 days and why is it being removed after 5 years?

Most, but not all, North American jurisdictions have booster seat laws. Many provinces and states that do not currently have a booster seat law are moving in this direction. Those that do have booster seat laws may have requirements that are not as stringent as Ontario’s. That’s why some exemptions are still required. The 5-year transition period to removing this exemption in its entirety should provide sufficient time to communicate changes to visitors to this province. This exemption ends on July 1, 2014.
