Why is the term urogenital system more applicable to males than to females?

Answer Urogenital system means the organ system of the reproductive organs and the urinary system. These are grouped together because of their proximity to each other, their common embryological origin and the use of common pathways, like the male urethra. In males it is more applicable as the semen (a product of the reproductive system) and urine (product of the urinary system) use a common path urethra to come out of the body, whereas in females the urethral opening is separate from the vaginal opening.
