Why is there a list of suitable LCD Panels and what is a FFC?
FFC stands for Flat Flexible Cable. This cable is present in some LCD panels which is used to connect the LCD panel to the controller board. An issue arises when the FFC runs over the ‘light path’ of the panel. We are progressively compiling a list of LCD panels that are suitable without FFC problems. Although having said that, if you are real good with electronics, you could make a FFC extension for the LCD. Usually, a FFC extension can be fashioned from a FFC socket and an extension cable. In this IBM Thinkvision 15″ LCD monitor there is a FFC that needs to be extended.
