Why is this benefit only offered to certain DUHS staff in Essential Service jobs?

0

The program is being offered to entities that expressed a need to provide severe weather child care to staff in Essential Service jobs to ensure patient services and other operations are maintained safely and efficiently when Duke’s Severe Weather & Emergency Conditions Policy is activated. The program is only offered to staff in Essential Service positions because in a severe weather or emergency situation, only positions classified as Essential Service are required to report to work or remain at work. If a staff member’s position is not designated as Essential, then he/she should not report to work or remain at work while the Severe Weather & Emergency Conditions Policy is in effect, regardless of his/her ability to report to work.
