Why is Winslow Way being rebuilt?
The primary reason for reconstructing Winslow Way is that the underground utilities in the street right-of-way, primarily sewer, water and storm drainage, are in extreme disrepair. Repairing and replacing these utilities will require digging and trenching within the limits of the street, and therefore pavement and sidewalks will need to be completely reconstructed. Because of these circumstances, the City has decided to pursue not only the improvements to the underground components of the street, but also to improve the surface features in accordance with the goals and vision of the Winslow Tomorrow recommendations.
