Why isn 24-bpp mode accelerated?
Early versions of the NM2200 chip had some drawing problems in 24 bpp accelerated modes so we disabled 24 bpp acceleration. Newer versions of the NM2200 chipset have corrected those 24 bpp problems, but PI has not yet received a laptop computer with a newer NM2200 chip. We plan to fix the problems at some point in the future but there is no schedule yet for that development. There is no solution available at this time.
