Why isn GoldWave listing my Wave, Stereo Mix, or What You Hear source in Vista?

If you are sure that your hardware has one of those sources, then the problem is caused by Vista. Microsoft decided to hide/disable certain recording sources by default in Vista, such as “Stereo Mix”, “Wave”, “Wave Out Mix”, “What You Hear”, etc. If you qualify for free technical support from Microsoft, you are strongly encouraged to contact them and ask them to explain this inconvenient policy and request they change it. GoldWave Inc. is not able to (and will no longer) provide any support related to this issue. Please search on Google for additional information.
