Why isn there a channel mapping module in Compressor?

I need to batch encode DV files with 4 channel audio to MP4’s with stereo audio. The problem is I need the first stereo track panned left and the 2nd stereo track panned right. I know Episode from Telestream can do this, but I hoped I could find a way to do this with the Apple software I’ve got. I know I can also do this manually in Quicktime player prior to encoding in Compressor, but since I’ve got a lot of files to do, I’d rather have an app or maybe an Applescript to do this (it seems from the Quicktime player Applescript Library that I cannot access the right parameters to do this, or can I?). I’ve managed to do a batch with Automator by automating QT player via ‘Watch me do’ but this is not ideal because it is not 100% working all the time.
