Why isn’t there a written test?
A. When students take a short written test before school starts, faculty respond to the test with very limited information. Students have limited information about what their college writing courses may be like. The Guided Self-Placement process makes students and faculty partners in the placement and registration process. We offer students information about the challenges of college writing, with course descriptions and sample papers available for review. We offer students the responsibility for starting their education by making an important choice.
