Why learn about discrete random variables?

0

The main idea in this course is that there is a link between the mean of a random sample and the mean of the population from which the random sample was drawn. We first have to understand the basic ideas of probability theory. Next, we have to understand random variables because the mean of a random sample is a random variable. Even though the mean of a random sample is a continuous random variable, we study discrete random variables first because theyre easier.
