Why make compost?

Adding compost improves soil fertility and stimulates healthy root development in plants. The organic matter provides food for microorganisms, which keeps the soil healthy and balanced. Nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus will be produced naturally by the feeding of microorganisms.
