Lake troutnumbers, and consequently lake trout catch rates, may need to be reduced if 1) kokanee and their egg supplies are to be protected and/or restored and 2) lake trout growth, relative weight and trophy potential are to be restoredand/or maintained. The bottom line is that predator and prey populations need to be in balance.
