Why not play games that have been natively ported using WINE?
Playing games in WINE simply isn’t a reliable option, although many games work acceptably, almost none will work perfectly. Games in WINE may suffer from instability, to minor glitches in sound and graphics, to poor performance. Oftentimes Wine/Cedega requires minutes to start their pseudo-Windows interface while it checks over your fonts. Native ports may suffer from bugs, but a porting house is in a much better position to provide support. Transgaming attempts to provide user support, but they are limited by not having the source code for nearly all of the games, to accurately determine what the problem is, let alone begin fixing it.
