Why Outlook freezes at startup while loading FileCrypt Desktop Outlook Addin?
A wrongly tightened security level of .NET application can prevent FileCrypt Desktop Outlook Addin from being launched. The practical and noticable effect is that it freezes Outlook at startup. Outlook has to be closed using the Task Manager. If Outlook is launched again, an alert informs the user that FileCrypt Desktop must be disabled. The workaround is to give the application its rights back. 1. Choose “Control Panel” from the “Start” menu. 2. Open “Administation Tools”. 3. Open “Microsoft .NET 1.1 Configuration” 4. Select “Runtime Security Policy” in the left panel. 5. In the right panel, click on “Increase Assembly Trust” 6. Select from whom you want to apply the trust change (Yourself or everyone) 7. Click the “Next” button 8. Click the “Browse” button 9. Browse for the installation path of “FileCrypt Desktop Pro” which is typically : “My Documents\Veridis\FileCrypt Desktop Pro” Select the file : FileCryptDesktopOutlookAddin.dll Press the “Open” button 10.
