WHY RACK & PINION SYSTEM ?
SAFETY FEATURES Optimum safety for the operation of the Elevator is ensured by the following: • Limit cams for automatic stop at top and bottom landings. • Safety hooks to prevent the car from climbing off the mast or to prevent the pinions from disengaging from the rack in case a counter roller or guide roller on the car comes off. • Heels on the machinery plate keep the pinion of the machinery and the safety device constantly engaged with the rack on the Elevator mast, in case a counter roller or a guide roller on the car comes off. • Interlocks: The car and landing doors are both electrically and mechanically locked to ensure proper safety. • Electro Magnetic Disc Brake: The non-driving end of the electrical motor is provided with an Electro Magnetic Brake which is normally in braked condition, and is only released when electric power is provided to the unit. • Centrifugal Brake: The worm screw of the reduction gear box is equipped with a centrifugal brake to prevent the safety devi
