I had a desire to get involved with something that was community-service oriented. That was what really got me into Wintergreen. Slope safety has been a very hard thing to enforce at ski resorts everywhere. What do you do to persuade skiers and snowboarders alike to – at the very least – throw on a helmet? It’s really just more or less reminding the folks It’s all about telling people, ‘Remember – you’re skiing fast. Make a mistake; it has consequences for you, for family and for guests that might be in your way.’ That more than anything else is my approach. Wintergreen’s “Safe Sliders” kids’ program tries to make it fun for kids to learn about slope safety. Whose idea was that? What has the feedback on it been thus far? “Safe Sliders” was a brainchild of mine.
