Why use Colloidal Silver?
Silver has been used for over 100 years to fight infection. Currently there are 5 different pharmaceuticals that use silver as one of the ingredients. The most common was silver nitrate. It was used as eye drops to prevent infection in newborn babies and is still used today in many countries. Over 70% of the hospital burn units in the United States use a silver-based cream to prevent and treat infection in burn patients. This cream, Silvadene®, is used because it is extremely effective, has no side effects, and is non-irritating. Isn’t it extremely hypocritical of the FDA to claim that pure colloidal silver is harmful in light of this? The pharmaceutical industry has no interest in colloidal silver because you cannot patent an element. Without a patent there is no money to be made and this tends to anger share holders immensely.
