Why was jane eyre sent to Lowood?

0

I think she was sent there, simply because her Aunt Reed hated her and wanted to get rid of her. Jane was a burden to her aunt, and she used schooling Jane as a reason to get her out of Gateshead. She couldn’t simply kick Jane out due to a promise made by her to her late husband (Jane’s uncle) to look after Jane. Therefore when Mr. Lloyd suggests that Jane be sent to school, for he too noticed that Jane was quite unhappy at Gateshead, Mrs. Reed agreed to send her away.
