Why were the results of the American Revolutionary War so important to the development of American democracy?
The American revolution was important because it allowed the American states to create a democratic federal government thirteen years later in 1789. Prior to the war, the American states were colonies of the British Empire, with final decisions made by the King of England, who limited local democratic rule.
