Unless they were American workers or something, taking Russian civilians hostage is hardly going to stop the Americans and British from firing freely. • That’s exactly what it did. That’s why you have to sneak up the oil rig with a Navy SEAL team instead of just blowing out the support towers with the submarines. Additionally, the US was already on the hook for a civilian massacre, no point in actually going out and giving the Russians another PR victory. • I understand that in game it did, I’m just saying that that makes no sense. They are at a state of total war with Russia – firing upon military installations with civilians aboard at this point shouldn’t be a problem. • Its a PR win that can be used to help jostle the UN into favoring the US in the war.
