Why, when and how was the IITBHF Alumni Directory automated ?
The IITBHF Alumni Directory was automated in the Fall of 2000 in order to provide a live, on-line database which alumni can use to locate friends and classmates. The database is a critical element of the service offering that IITBHF is delivering to alumni in helping build a community and a network of IITians the world over. The database was designed by a group of volunteers spread across the US, and the coding as well as ongoing maintenance of the software is the responsibility of a private Mumbai-based company, Y-Point Inc (http://www.ypoint.com).
