Why won’t the neighborhood be restricted to “Current Wolfeboro residents/workers only”?

There are no “residential” restrictions on any existing housing in Wolfeboro. People moving to Sugar Hill, Christian Ridge, The Ledges, Taylor Homes, Wolfeboro Bay nursing home, Sewall Road, Forest Road, Mountain West, etc. do not have to be “current Wolfeboro residents”. There are state and national laws to protect people against discrimination, and we, like any person renting or selling real estate, must abide by them. We are required to rent or sell to any income qualified household that is responsible and agrees to abide by our neighborhood covenants. Such residential restrictions would also prohibit our businesses, schools, hospitals and agencies from recruiting specially qualified workers who are not currently available in our local labor market. There are age limitations and income restrictions on those developments that are funded through specific government programs and/or were constructed using town ordinances that place restrictions on them.
