Will a bench grinder grind stone?

Yes a bench grinder can shape a piece of stone to look like this but it will be rough and not polished with a grinding stone. to polish it I would get a polishing wheel and some polishing compounds to place on the wheels. The polishing wheels look like cloth that has been compressed and is in the shape of a grinding wheel. The polishing compound comes in tubes and in many different grits. It takes these thing to polish rocks down like your wanting. It sounds like a good idea and not too expensive to find out if you can do it. The only thing that might give you trouble is holding onto the rocks while polishing them. I have ground down a piece of quartz on a grinder but polished by wet sanding with sandpaper and a lot of time.
