Will Dhaam Dhoom escape video piracy?
The police are hard on the heels of pirated VCD vendors and the ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ unit is all out to fight it. ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ is to be released on Friday. To protect the film from piracy, producer Suryaraj of Media One, hero Jayam Ravi, K Rajan who is President of Tamil Thiraipada Paadhukappu Iyakkam are holding meetings on how to handle the threat of video piracy. They have shared their ideas with the press. Jayam Ravi’s fan club will check out if ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ is being telecast on cable channels or if people are watching the pirated VCD at homes. General public can also send information. Ten phone lines will be open 24 hours a day for this. There will be a watch on where these pirated VCDs are being sold too and can be reported. On the whole, the 3 of them have devised ideas to keep video piracy at bay with an iron grip. Still, the thief has to change to bring to a halt, video piracy. Efforts can at best, lessen the extent of piracy, that’s all!
