House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the chairmen of four key committees will meet with the president in a closed-door meeting at around 2:30 this afternoon. The meeting is a late addition to Obama’s schedule, on a day that had been set to focus on promoting math and science teaching. The group of chairmen includes the leaders of the three committees to handle healthcare legislation, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.), and House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller (D-Calif.).
