Absolutely not!  In the United States, the Departments of Vocational and Transitional services in each state, along with the job placement services from your child’s university should be able to match him with the proper training for a job.  There are tax incentives and other benefits that employers receive for hiring employees with special needs.  The U.S. government is the largest employer of people with disabilities and jobs can be found nationwide working for them.  And there is no reason why your child attending a specialized university should preclude him from receiving a "well-rounded" education.
Best of luck and success to you and your child.
