Will Minnesota Twins new home be as sweet as Metrodome?
The House of Hop is closing for business. The recession didn’t get it. Minnesotans, who urge to take their baseball under the open sky instead of a Teflon roof, did. Next year, the Twins will move into Target Field, a $500 million open-air ballpark located a few miles up the street from the Metrodome. April baseball under a slate gray sky in Minneapolis sounds a lot like April baseball in Cleveland. The only difference is that it could be a few degrees colder. The Twins are eager to move into their new ballpark. They’ve played at the Metrodome since 1982, sharing it with the Vikings and the University of Minnesota. Everyone wants a home of their own, but in leaving the Metrodome, the Twins will say goodbye to one of the best home-field advantages in baseball. When the Twins won the World Series in 1987, they were 56-25 in the dome and 29-52 on the road. When they won the 1991 World Series, they were 51-30 at home and 44-37 on the road. This year, as they try to run down the first-place
