Will noise barriers ever get built at Warringah Freeway?

Cr McCaffery said Warringah Freeway should be treated as a “special case” because all freeways built today had sound barriers. “We keep getting overlooked,” she said. “The noise is completely unjustifiable.” She said the council would “keep lobbying hard” for barriers. The RTA has promised to assess any application received for the Noise Abatement Program for home soundproofing, such as double glazed windows. Cr McCaffery encouraged affected people to apply. She said it would give them evidence that the noise was “unacceptable”.
