No. We will conduct internal testing to ensure that our systems and processes are running smoothly before the implementation due date. • Will ppoNEXT support the dual transmission of NPI and legacy identifiers during the transition period of October 1, 2006 to May 23, 2007? Yes, we have the capacity to maintain both data elements in our claims repricing application. • What is your strategy for handling electronic provider transactions once providers obtain their NPIs? We are presently capable of receiving and storing NPI numbers if submitted. • Will you require providers to continue using their existing provider identification numbers in electronic transactions?
