Will SketchPath go Open Source?
It’s unlikely that SketchPath will be an open source product in the short term as I’m keen to keep overall control of its early development whilst I can still devote sufficient time to it. I’m conscious that once a project has gone open source its impossible to put the ‘rabbit back in the hat’ so to speak. A priority for the next full version will be to improve the way that SketchPath can be integrated with other products. It will perhaps also allow programmatic customisation of some parts of SketchPath through the use of XSLT, PowerShell scripts and XAML. I will continue to review the ‘open source decision’ as SketchPath hopefully gets established and as other circumstances change.
