Automatic Transmissions are internally pressurized systems with hundreds of internal moving components. Additives containing stop leak chemistry or seal swell products can prove detrimental to automatic transmissions. Stop leak transmission products, can cause seals and O-rings to become brittle and flake. These particles can easily become lodged in the transmissions valve body restricting fluid flow, creating pressure problems or transmission failure.
